General Questions
I’m being bullied/annoyed by other members on this forum, please help!
Private Message (PM) the Admin or a Moderator immediately detailing your problem and it will be dealt with.
What is hotlinking?
Hotlinking is directly linking to an image you do not have permission to use. You MUST only use images that you have hosted on your own webspace or have permission to use from someone else to use theirs. If you do not keep to this rule, the offending image will be removed and further measures may be taken.
How do I prevent my username from appearing in the online user listings?
In your profile you will find an option Hide your online status; if you switch this on you'll only appear to the administrator and moderators or to yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user.
How do I change my rank/tagline?
You cannot directly change the wording of any rank (ranks appear below your username in topics and on your profile depending on the style used). Most boards use ranks to indicate the number of posts you have made and to identify certain users. For example, moderators and administrators may have a special rank. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your ranking. You will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count. This is known as spamming.
How do I get a picture below my name on my posts?
This picture is called an avatar. You must host your avatar, by uploading it to one of these free image host services:
www.imageshack.us
www.photobucket.com
www.freeimagehosting.net
www.picshome.com
www.upload2.com
www.imagecave.com
Once you've signed up, upload the image to your image host and find out the address to the image. The address will look something like this: “http://webhost.com/folder/avatar.jpg”. Go to your Profie and copy and paste the image address into the box at the bottom labelled as “Avatar URL:” and click Submit.
How do I add an image to my signature?
First you must host your image, using one of the links provided above in the previous question. Once you've signed up, upload the image to your image host and find out the address to the image. The address will look something like this: “http://webhost.com/folder/banner.jpg”. Go to your Profie and copy and paste the image address into the box labelled as “Signature”. Add the image tags so your text looks like this [IMG*]http://webhsot.com/folder/banner.jpg[/IMG*] (remove the stars) and click Submit. Please dont use outrageously huge sigs.
How do I know how many posts I have (post count)?
At the bottom of the main page of the forum, there is an area that is labelled ‘Who is Online’? Click your username shown in the list. On the screen to follow, you will see your total posts on the right hand side. You can also check other users post counts by using this method as well as other peoples profiles. You can also check your post count on the left hand side of your posts (below your avatar).
Why hasn't my post count gone up when I've posted in certain boards?
The reason for this is that certain boards when posted in will not add to your post count because the threads and posts in these boards will be deleted anyway or do not contribute to the forum.
Why are my images (avatar and banner) not showing?
There are a number of reasons:
- The site hosting the images has restricted you from direct linking to them.
- You typed the wrong address to your avatar and banner in your Profile.
- Your image is not a valid file format, this forum only allows .GIF, .JPG and .PNG.
- Your image host is currently not working, but the image should be up shortly.
- You did not upload the image to your host, if this is the case try uploading it again.
Can I send Private Messages to individual members?
